Mt Hood and the Columbia River Gorge are well known for their natural beauty and splendor. Straddling the border of Washington and Oregon the Columbia River Gorge makes for a great destination for hikers, campers and nature enthusiasts of all stripes. Any time of year is good to visit, however the fall is the best time as the leaves here put on an amazing show and the weather, while crisp, is quite enjoyable. In addition to the beauty of the gorge itself you also have the majesty of Mt Hood in the background, reminding you how large the world really is.
