Koh Phi Phi is the island in Thailand where the movie The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio was filmed. Prior to the filming of the movie it was virtually unknown. It’s a tiny little island (you can walk everywhere) and nice for a day trip for the fantastic scenery and nearby ocean sights. There are some hotels on the island, but I’m not sure how long you could stay on an island this size without getting a bit of island madness. Much better to stay on nearby Phuket and make the day trip to Phi Phi unless you really want seclusion and quiet.
