Sri Lanka is well known for its natural beauty and friendly people. It is not known as a climbing destination, but if you choose Sri Lanka as a travel destination you have to make the climb to Adam’s Peak.
If you do choose to take on the challenge you’ll be well rewarded by the commanding view this peak has over the other hills and jungles of southern Sri Lanka. Many choose to make the trek at night as viewing the sunrise from the peak has special religious significance.
Whether you make the climb during the day or at night, come prepared for an hours long trek through hot and humid jungles and up steep inclines. Dress appropriately and bring plenty of water. And have fun!
