Travel and food…food and travel…which one is more enticing and addictive? I can’t decide either and honestly one of the huge reasons I travel is to experience new foods. Travel is a wonderful way to recharge, learn new things and challenge your beliefs about the world and all it holds. Problem is there is WAY too much of the world for you to ever see it all (unless you’re on a mission to do so), and even more things to eat than you can imagine. Plus, travel is expensive and time off hard to find. So what’s a travel addict and unrepentant foodie to do?

Create a website that curates the best food and travel photos from around the web of course!

Why Travel Pizza? Well, the travel part should be obvious. Pizza came about because:
1. It’s my favorite food ever.
2. I think it exemplifies the perfect food. A traditional pizza is loaded with carbs (the crust), vitamins (the sauce) and protein (the cheese).
3. You can put almost any other food on a crust and call it pizza.

So pizza is my ideal food and represents all that is good to me in food. It can be comforting, exotic, decadent and it can even be dessert. Besides, TravelFood.com was already taken and I think TravelPizza.com is quite memorable.

As I scour my favorite food and travel sites I’ll be adding photos and captions, but you dear visitor can contribute too. Just register for an account and submit your own food and travel photos for consideration. With tens of thousands of food and travel related blogs out there it’s impossible to keep up with them all, but with your help we can add the yeast to the Travel Pizza. Please note though that I don’t post everything that is submitted. There are some loose criteria for each photo that I use to judge whether or not to I should post.

1. The photo should be your own and must be live on your site
2. Each photo must contain a caption related to the photo. Feel free to be witty, ironic, sarcastic or just plain descriptive if you like.
3. The URL submitted must point back to the page the photo is located on your site.
